Middle Grades Partnership
Middle Grades Partnership (MGP) is part of a city-wide initiative that partners independent schools with Baltimore public schools to provide learning opportunities for promising Baltimore City students. Funded by the Baltimore Community Foundation, MGP fosters strong collaboration between the participating partner schools to design and deliver the program. The program is year-round with the core of the MGP activities at GFS for five weeks during the summer.

GFS’s MGP summer experience also includes a one-of-kind “Learn to Ride and Play Polo” program created and taught by GFS Polo Coach Cindy Halle, which teaches self-confidence and leadership skills as well as riding, polo and horsemanship. .
How does MGP Work?
City Springs and GFS MGP students enjoy Shadow Days at each other’s schools throughout the year, as well as leadership development programs for each school. During the summer, City Springs students attend a five-week camp at GFS, focused on academic enrichment, connecting with GFS and former City Springs student mentors, taking field trips and enjoying arts and/or Polo and riding classes.
